Page, Arizona provides amazing access to beautiful desert destinations including canyons, scenic overlooks, Horseshoe Bend, and Lake Powell. If you are heading to Page, these are my recommendations for what to do.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit Horseshoe Bend at sunset<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Horseshoe Bend is world famous for the amazing views you get of the Colorado River flowing through an almost perfect horseshoe shaped bend in the canyon. This area is very busy and touristy, but for really good reasons. The red canyon walls and the blue river water make for some stunning views and the photographs that you can acquire are breathtaking. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk out to the viewing area from the parking lot, but you walk along a well-maintained trail that makes the trek very easy. The entire walk to the overlook and back is approximately 1.5 miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would recommend visiting at sunset so you can view the sun dropping below the horizon behind the bend in the canyon. The entrance fee is pretty reasonable as well for such a well-visited site. Passenger cars only cost $10.00 for admission and motorcycles are only $5.00. If you are using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera for your photos, I would recommend taking a wide-angle lens so that you are fully able to capture the bend in the canyon as well as the river at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a tour through Antelope Canyon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you visit Page, Arizona, you absolutely should plan to go on one of the tours through Antelope Canyon. This slot canyon is so spectacular. The views are amazing and constantly changing around each bend. The tours are also on Navajo Land, so taking a tour helps support the Navajo guides that take you on the tour. You are not allowed to take videos on the tour, but the photographs you capture will be phenomenal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guides even point out specific features of the canyon that you can photograph. There is one place that was used for the background wallpaper for Windows operating systems a few years back. Your guide will help you take that photo and you can compare it to the old Windows wallpaper when you get home. This tour is an absolute must do in my opinion if you are going to be in Page, Arizona. I took the Lower Antelope Canyon Tour, but I heard the Upper Antelope Canyon Tour is also quite amazing.
