Staying at Cedar Grove Lodge
Kings Canyon National Park is a relatively secluded park, which makes staying outside of the park’s boundaries less than optimal if you want to ensure that you can see the park’s highlights. Cedar Grove Lodge provides an amazing opportunity to stay at a beautiful and rustic lodge within the park’s boundaries. The lodge even features some neat amenities like reclining pool chairs overlooking the South Kings Fork River. These chairs are really great for kicking back in nature and recovering after a day of hiking.
The lodge also has a restaurant and convenience store on site so you can ensure you have a decent dinner and snacks after a day of hiking. You can grab some ice cream or a cold beer as a reward for putting in the miles on the trails in the area. My dad and I really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. There is also very little light around the property at night, so we were also able to try and take some photographs of the Milky Way from the lodge’s parking lot. Since I did not envision starting a travel blog at the time, I did not get any photos of the lodge or my room, but you can view photos, rates, and availability for the Cedar Grove Lodge here.
