Moab, Utah is the gateway to many amazing recreational activities. The town is in close proximity to multiple National Parks, is a 4×4 and ATV hotspot, is the home to numerous amazing hikes by arches and ancient petroglyphs and has amazing rafting and rock-climbing opportunities all around. I have been to Moab multiple times and these are some of my recommendations for hotel stays based on your budget. There are also numerous campgrounds around if you would prefer to camp in the area and can find an empty spot.

Where to stay on your visit to Moab, Utah

I have visited Moab, Utah a few times now. On my most recent visits, I stayed at a nicer hotel as well as a budget friendly hotel. If you are heading to Moab, these are my recommendations for hotels based on your budget and based on places that I have stayed.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Moab

On my way through Moab with my dad after one of our western US road trips, we stayed at the Homewood Suites in Moab. This was an amazing hotel with beautiful suites, a fitness center, hot tub with a cool waterfall feature, and an indoor pool. The hotel also featured an amazing continental breakfast to fuel up for adventures around Moab. The one downside of the hotel when I stayed was that the hot tub was anything but hot. The tub was a bit warmer than the swimming pool, but it definitely could not be considered a hot tub at that time.

The positives of the hotel were the spacious rooms, the breakfast options, and the ability to walk to numerous restaurants and coffee shops from the hotel. Despite the hot tub lacking adequate temperature, I would definitely stay here again because the rooms were amazing and the pool was quite relaxing after a day of hiking within the surrounding National Parks. From this hotel, it takes just 9 minutes to reach Arches National Park and 36 minutes to reach Canyonlands National Park, making this hotel a great option for you National Parks visit while in Moab. Since I did not anticipate starting a travel blog when I visited, I unfortunately did not get any photos of the hotel or my room. Days Inn by Wyndham Moab

If you are traveling on a stricter budget, you should consider staying at the Days Inn by Wyndham. This is where I stayed on my most recent multi-day trip to Moab. This is definitely a budget hotel with fewer amenities than some of the surrounding properties. If you are just staying in Moab to sleep and then recreate in the surrounding areas, this is definitely a good option and will save you some money. The hotel does have a seasonal pool as well as some breakfast options, which is nice for a hotel at this price point.

Despite being a cheaper stay, this property felt completely safe, the rooms were clean, and they were quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep before spending the day hiking in the surrounding area. This hotel is also within walking distance of many restaurants and the coffee roastery in Moab. This hotel is an 8-minute drive to the Arches National Park entry station and a 34-minute drive to the Canyonlands National Park entry station. Since I did not anticipate starting a travel blog when I visited, I unfortunately did not get any photos of the hotel or my room. You can view photos, rates, and availability for the hotel here.

From hotels in Moab, you are just a short drive to many of the arches in the area like Corona Arch
